Job Description Job Description Job Title: Drafter Job Description The Drafter will be primarily responsible for managing and translating data from client-provided drawings into shop detail drawings. The role involves working almost exclusively on the computer, handling 2D CAD work, without any 3D design or product design responsibilities. Projects will vary in size, involving solo work or collaboration with up to nine team members. Responsibilities Manage and translate data from client drawings into shop detail drawings. Perform 2D CAD work exclusively, without involvement in 3D design. Collaborate with team members on larger projects as needed. Interface with the shop to ensure accurate fabrication of designs. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD with at least 1 year of experience. Ability to read and interpret flat prints and blueprints. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Excel, including pivot tables, data manipulation, and H-look-ups. Mechanical inclination, such as working on cars or home improvements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in CAD/drafting. Preferred: 3 years of AutoCAD experience. Preferred: 2 years of drafting within a piping setting. Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or welding. Work Environment The work environment is primarily computer-based, with a team of 10 drafters and checkers. The role requires occasional interface with a noisy and loud fabrication shop. The company is experiencing growth and works with a diverse range of clients Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kaukauna, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
