Job Description: Structural Welder Job Summary: As a Structural
Welder you will play a pivotal role in the construction of strong
and safe metal structures. Your welding expertise will ensure the
integrity of welds on beams, columns, and other structural
components. Operating various welding techniques, you will adhere
to engineering specifications and industry standards. Safety is
paramount, and youll strictly follow safety protocols while
maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Major Duties
Responsibilities Perform various welding techniques, including MIG,
TIG, stick, or flux-colored welding, to join metal components and
structures accurately. Set up and operate welding equipment,
ensuring proper parameters, such as voltage, amperage, and wire
feed speed. Cut, shape, and prepare metal materials using cutting
torches grinders, and other tools as needed. Perform
non-destructive testing methods, such as visual inspections and dye
penetrant testing to identify and address welding defects.
Essential Skills Experience High school diploma or equivalent
preferred. Exceptional skills in various welding techniques with a
focus on structural steel and metal fabrication. Ability to read
and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Knowledge of various welding tools and equipment, including welding
machines, grinders, cutting torches, and clamps. Strong adherence
to OSHA regulations and practices for maintaining a safe work
environment while consistently producing high-quality welds.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot welding defects and make
necessary adjustments to achieve structural integrity, sound welds,
and precision in alignment. Safety Environmental Factors: All
employees are expected to adhere to the companys safety policies to
maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves
working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the
physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for
various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk,
and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to
50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant,
and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
