specifics.Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in
accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of
the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and
communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for
well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with
members of the healthcare team.Requirements Licensure /
Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of
hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association
or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or
job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American
Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of
Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state
license if considered multi-state/Compact State.Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR
Required professional licensure at time ofhire required.Additional
Preferences Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)- 24 bed unit
As the designated Tertiary Care Center for Ascension Wisconsin our
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) patient population
consists primarily of cardiac patients. We provide comprehensive
care to patients both pre- and post-cardiovascular procedural
interventions and cardiothoracic surgeries. We specialize in
complex, high acuity patients that require knowledge of CRRT,
Intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella assist devices, epicardial and
trans-venous pacemakers, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
(ECMO). We pride ourselves on providing quality care with the
highest reliability. Staff huddles at the beginning of each shift
allow staff to better anticipate patient care needs and share
anyimportant communications. Daily multidisciplinary patient rounds
support the review of patient care goals in a collaborative and
educational manner. We depend on our team to drive the quality of
care to the exceptional level our patients deserve.The
multi-disciplinary team consists of our Intensivists, APNPs, RNs,
Respiratory Therapists, Case Managers, Social Workers, OT, PT,
Speech Therapists, Pharmacists, CNS, Psychologist, and Chaplin
services. The CVICU at Columbia St. Mary's is part of a Catholic
