Position Summary The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the
oversight of pharmacy dispensing processes and the consultation of
patients. This position supports the pharmacy manager ensuring the
maintenance of pharmacy operations, customer satisfaction and
loyalty, and regulatory compliance. In addition to any
responsibilities otherwise outlined in the job description or
elsewhere, the staff pharmacist has responsibility for complying
with rules governing the role of a pharmacist as issued by the
state of Illinois. The pharmacist is the direct supervisor/manager
of the technicians assigned under them. Responsibilities also
include coordinating the duties of pharmacy technicians working in
the preparation, labeling and delivery of various
medications/supplies according to prescriptions. Most importantly,
staff pharmacists must ensure that all dispensed drugs are recorded
and delivered in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Position Responsibilities - Professional demeanor and courteous

Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems (will train) - Answers
patient inquiries for new prescriptions, patient refill requests,
and other pharmacy related business - Oversees the preparation and
dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical
practitioners - Oversees the preparation of all necessary records
on prescriptions and other pharmacy related records - Knowledge of
insurance and third-party billing systems - Knowledge of
organization services available to customers - Follows established
policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement
objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control
standards - Any other duties assigned by the Senior Clinical
Pharmacist and Upper Management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with
professionalism and strong organizational skills - Knowledge of the
use, clinical effects, and composition of drugs, including their
chemical, biological, and physical properties - Ability to work
accurately in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work
effectively - Commitment to company values and the ability to be a
strong team player - Ability to look at prescriptions for extended
periods of time and ensure accuracy Performance Requirements -

preserve confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and

Licenses, Certificates, Education and/or Experience Required -
Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy - Illinois
Pharmacist license in good standing Required - California
Pharmacist license in good standing Required - Preferred 2-5 years
post-graduate clinical experience with patient care - Able to pass
drug test and criminal background check Work Environment:This
position is in a fast-paced, pharmacy environment. Pharmacists
spend most of their shift on their feet. Exposure to chemicals is
possible. When working with sterile or dangerous pharmaceutical
products, pharmacists wear gloves, masks and other protective
equipment. Physical Demands - Ability to lift - Moving, lifting or
