Position Title: Packaging Operator Wage: $19.50 - $21.50/hour Shift: 12 Hour Days or Nights Hours: 4:00am - 4:00pm or 4:00pm - 4:00am (2-2-3 Rotating Schedule) Are your skills not being fully utilized? Packaging Operator Responsibilities: - Operating and monitoring block-forming towers, HMI’s, metal detectors and packaging equipment - Loading packaging materials, adjusting equipment to ensure proper block size, weight and labeling - Boxing, palletizing, labeling and moving finished product to staging or shipping areas - Entering and closing work orders; documenting production, lot numbers and weights accurately - Performing quality checks and immediately reporting food safety or quality concerns - Conducting equipment setup, calibration, minor maintenance and routine sanitation of packaging equipment and work areas - Recording cooler temperatures and reporting deviations as needed - Training team members on packaging procedures and safety standards - Assisting with shipping or other production as needed - Operating forklifts Requirements for Packaging Operator: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Prior manufacturing experience preferred - Basic math, computer and documentation skills - Ability to walk and stand for 8-12 hours - Ability to regularly lift 40-50 pounds - Strong communication skills and ability to read work instructions - Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Ability to work in warm/cool environments (55 - 80 degrees) - Forklift certification QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
