Overview

Summary:

Building Material Specialist (BMS) is responsible for everyday operations of the Retail store in West Allis, this includes inventory, appearance, orders, walk in customers, call in customers, and COD Customers. The main role of the BMS will be to service, attract and maintain a solid customer base.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
Targeting the needs of our customers, providing products that will fit their needs as well as attract new customers

Store Appearance/Inventory:
Maintaining the store inventory and ordering in a timely basis what our customers require
Keeping the store and warehouse in a clean, organized manner

Marketing of Company and Store:
Coming up with creative ways to communicate products and training to educate and attract customers

Support Sales Team:
Be a good reference for Sales for all the materials the store sells and have the ability to research products that our customers request us to carry.

Global Responsibilities:
Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications:

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
Sales and Customer service experience preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities:
Excellent Organizational, written and communication skills
Proficient with CRM's and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability and willingness to communicate their ideas effectively

Working Conditions:
Job is mainly to remain in the store
Job requires the ability to work as part of a team
Travel will be local to visit customers and our plants
Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines and filing cabinets

Physical Requirements:
Ability to learn to operate a forklift
Ability to carry/move objects under 80 lbs.
Expected to be in the store sitting, walking for 8-10 hours per day
Regularly talk, hear, use close and distance vision, color, peripheral vision
