McKinley Employment and Community Support Services (ECSS) program

community for individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Summary: As a program coordinator at Ada S. McKinley,
responsibilities typically include overseeing the day-to-day
operations of specific programs, coordinating services for clients,
managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies,
developing and implementing program goals and objectives,
monitoring program outcomes, liaising with stakeholders and
community partners, and providing support and guidance to program
participants. The coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the
effectiveness and success of the program while maintaining a focus
on the well-being and progress of the individuals served. Reporting
Relationship: Reports To: Director of Residential Services
Supervises (Position Title): Residential Home Manager Principle
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the care plans for people with
intellectual disabilities residing in the residential program. This
includes assessing their needs, developing individualized care
plans, and ensuring that appropriate services and support are
provided to meet those needs.
- Supervise and train staff members working within the
residential program, including DSPs and other support staff.
Provide guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure that
staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
to effectively support people with intellectual disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and
policies governing residential programs. This includes maintaining
accurate documentation, adhering to licensing requirements, and
implementing quality assurance measures to uphold the highest
standards of care and safety.
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of people with
intellectual disabilities within the residential program. Serve as
a liaison between residents, their families, and external agencies
or organizations to ensure that their voices are heard, their needs
are addressed, and they have access to necessary resources and
support services. Qualifications:
- Required Bachelor's Degree in a human service field or similar
area from an accredited college or university
- Must be Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)
eligible or certified
- Required 5 years of experience working directly with people
with Intellectual / Developmental disabilities.
- Required 3 years of progressive management experience.
- A valid driver's license, working vehicle, car insurance and
less than 3 moving violation within the last 5 years
- The selected candidate must be 18 + years

- This position requires the individual demonstrate the

sensitivity to the client population served.
- This position requires the individual possess the ability to
partner with clients individually and/or in family to help them
mobilize resources and build resilience.
- This position requires the individual possess the ability to
coordinate effectively with other team members, other Agency
resources and outside services in addressing client needs.
- This position requires the individual possess an understanding
of evidence-informed practices, engagement strategies, boundary
setting, concurrent documentation, working in a community setting,
organizing, motivational interviewing, and family systems.PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is subject to sitting, walking, and standing
for prolonged periods; frequently pushes, pulls, grasps, feels, and
occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee
frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and
eye-hand coordination when working with persons served and handling
office, medical, or household equipment. The employee is subject to
assist and lift up to 50 pounds with varying amounts of assistance
on a recurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected
vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate a
motor vehicle. Must have the ability to perform CPR and CPI.
Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious
substances, including communicable diseases, when performing
personal care (Category III). Occasional exposure to cleaning
agents and disinfectants. Environmental Conditions: While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally
exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
