USINDOPACOM Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) ManagerCamp H.M. Smith, HawaiiSCHEDULEThis is a full-time position but it is specifically for the following schedule:

  • Sunday to Thursday (five days per week)
  • Hours are from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM (includes 30 minutes for meal break)The USINDOPACOM JOPES Manager will support the Joint staff, providing technical advice and assistance to functional elements outside the mobility division, JOPES operations, including future planning elements involved in the development, planning and reporting of movement requirements. The JOPES Manager will perform the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist with coordination and execution of deployment/redeployment/rotation of forces.
    • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and civilian staff authority on the use of the automated planning processes in JOPES and related planning and deployment execution systems.
    • Provide essential continuity in analysis and implementation of progressive improvements to USINDOPACOM and component command control procedures and methods.
    • Extract critical information from global force management (GFM) systems and manage rotational and emergent requirements in JOPES.
    • Provide continuous review, analysis and monitoring of programs, policy, guidance and systems administration.
    • Provide technical advice and assistance to functional elements outside the mobility division, JOPES operations, including future planning elements involved in the development, planning and reporting of movement requirements.
    • Perform as a member of joint planning group (JPG) and operational planning teams supporting crisis operations.
    • Assess requirements and participate in the development of computer programs to satisfy unique user requirements. These include data retrieval, manipulation and input utilities.
    • Assess impact of changing technology on current and future planning system applications. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for the next generation of the global command and control system (GCCS) and JOPES systems as they are developed, tested and fielded.
    • Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
      • Bachelor's degree, will consider associates degree with an additional three (3) years of practical experience
      • Attendance at Career Level School equivalent
      • 4+ years of relevant experience at Higher Headquarters organization (e.g. MAJCOM, equivalent, or above)EXPERIENCE
        • Possess a working knowledge of the Pacific theater, and an understanding of the relationships and general interactions between each nation within.
        • Operational and/or logistical experience in the Asia-Pacific Theater and supporting Theater Security Cooperation efforts (preferred).
        • Knowledge of the operational and logistical support required for exercises, deployments, and mobilizations and familiar with TPFDD nomenclature.CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIESRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
          • JOPES technical expertise and detailed working knowledge of the JOPES database and supporting systems, command roles and relationships, Joint and component policy, operational procedures, directives, communications and related ADP specifications, files, applications and capabilities that directly support DoD-wide time-sensitive planning for development and execution of contingency and crisis action planning.
          • Familiarity with and understanding the difference between design-build (DB) and design-
          • Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).
          • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication.WORKING CONDITIONS
            • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
              • Travel may be required.
              • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.SECURITY CLEARANCE
                • A TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.ESTIMATED COMPENSATION
                  • $110,000-$160,000Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business considerations, local market, internal equity, candidate qualifications such as skills, education and experience.
